Rihanna Early life
Rihanna began singing at the young age of just 7 years old. She didn’t graduate high school and instead decided to focus all of her efforts on her music career.
In 2003, Rihanna formed a musical trio with two classmates. She was quickly discovered by an American record producer in Barbados, and he welcomed Rihanna to his home in the States to show some demo tracks.
Within the same year, Rihanna signed a contract with Syndicated Rhythm Productions. Jay-Z heard some of the initial tracks that were sent to recording labels, and as the CEO of Def Jam Records, he was desperate to sign Rihanna to the label.
Signing with Def Jam paved the way to Rihanna’s net worth success you see today; including dozens of awards and multiple platinum awarded albums and has played roles in several movies.

Rihanna Brands Deals
It’s a determined attitude that helped the singer get to where she is today. Her fortune isn’t just from her music — she’s been able to grow it through brand partnerships and her product lines.
Fenty Beauty Line:
In September 2017 Rihanna launched a makeup line called Fenty Beauty in partnership with luxury goods maker LVMH. The brand did $100 million in revenue in its first two months. In 2018 the line generated $570 million. It’s conceivable that the total value of the brand would be $1.5 – $2 billion based on a 3-4X revenue multiple. Rihanna owns 15%. At those valuations levels, Rihanna’s stake is worth $225 – $300 million, pre-tax. After-tax that would be $112 – $150 million, which when added to her other $200 million fortune from recording, endorsements and concert sales, gives Rihanna net worth of $350 million. Let’s go ahead and call it $400 million if we’re off somewhere on the taxes or company valuation. Note that $400 million is $200 million away from $600 million. Technically Rihanna is $400 million pre-tax away from $600 million.
Rihanna’s net worth is NOT $600 million.
That number comes from Forbes which, as we’ve seen previously with Kylie Jenner, seems to have been plucked from thin air. In their justification, Forbes estimates that Fenty is worth $3 billion which does not align with market realities. Even if it were accurate, 15% of $3 billion is $450 million PRE TAX. After taxes that would be $225 million, which when added to Rihanna’s non-Fenty fortune of $200 million would be $425 million.
Rihanna is one of the most successful singers in the world and continues to diversify her career.
In 2019, Rihanna’s net worth is estimated to be $260 million, making her one of the richest singers of all time.
